    Just Another Day

    .
    Just Another Day
    .
Already a long day you go outside for a smoke
Two guys come over and one tells a lame joke
    .
The other lights up saying he's going to stop
Ya, like it's been three years with out a drop
    .
I'm done, just puting it out, smashing it hard
They both move to face me and show me their card
    .
Get in the car, now you know who is in charge
They sit up front, back seat feels way too large
    .
They take you to a room that is small and plain
They both face me again one says let me explain
    .
Please have a seat, sit in the chair with a smile
Get comfortable we will be here for a quite a while
    .
The talker says we will ask you some questions twice
It's our job and we don't care if your naughty or nice
    .
No thinking needed, please don't search the truth
Nothing personal, no deep secrets like Dr. Ruth
    .
We ask you first a question so there will be no shock
The other guy pulls out a case with a double lock
    .
We are almost ready would you like a smoke, a drink
I'm getting a little tense now and impossible to think
    .
Out comes their cards and they read me my rights
One opens the the case the other dims the lights
    .
The case opened the wires get attached above my brow
The smoker begins to ask the questions no answer now
    .
An hour goes by the list of questions complete
Are there any questions you want us to delete
    .
By the way one other thing this is out of the norm
Have you ever cheated or lied on a government form
    .
You're not quite there but can hear you say yes
That's good, that is your only answers no and yes
    .
The other begins the questions speaking softly slow
Another hour maybe two, not sure time has no flow
    .
We are done now and do not tell anyone about today
You can go back to work forget us or you will pay
    .
We will drive you back so lets get in the car
Leaving the room but with the door still ajar
    .
They drop you off at the building next door
Thats so nobody sees you togeather any more
    .
You go back to work and nobody ask where you been
Feels like a school boy commiting a mortal sin
    .
Was today just another day in my strange weird life
But after the third time, I at least tell my wife

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
