Our World Today
As we consider, who is in control, of the lives that we live today
Who watches every move we make, and even what we say.
Politics, and electronics, are taking charge of every one;
Both, those elected, and those selected, all have us under their thumb.
Once, we could see a sporting event, with judges and referees
Who made the calls, what human eyes saw; was declared the destiny.
But today we have, instant replay, that might change the final score.
When you sincerely think about it, is man needed any more?
Those in power depend upon, the taxes that they are taking;
Not paying theirs, just spending ours, and poverty creating.
Or whenever an important happening is viewed upon the news,
Is it the truth, or are they told, to spin specific views?
Journalism, is like nothing today, as I was taught, in school;
They outright lie, and repeat it again, as if talking to a fool'
How many times, do you think in a day, when you are in your town,
your picture is captured on recorded film, from cameras, all around?
Big brother is your keeper, it is getting so plain to see,
That expressing choices, with our voices, is fast becoming, history.
Computers control most everyones move, and all, is now recorded,
Government grows exploiting and spending, while it's not afforded.
If, the fear of poverty and loss of freedom were in our politics today
you would see the government change it's course, and seek another way.
Fascist and Communistic ways are failures; that, history shows to see,
So why do men pursue those views and destroy our liberty?
So many mothers, have sent their sons, to fight in foreign lands.
Men who glory in prestige and power, have the bloos upon their hands.
Education is very profitable, when it's learned and then well used,
But when controlled by political parties, it can be, so abused!
Politics and electronics, must not be taken for granted, today,
They don't always show, the best way to go, but they are here to stay.
