    A Sad Reality

    Today, we find humans, contained in a "box" that holds us all, close at hand;
    We are hopelessly bound by obstacles ot traits, which form the final plan.
    Born in specific society's, that all differ far and wide;
    wondering in our own surrounding, just who will be our guide?
    We as a people, brought to a Republic by men who chose to see
    A freedom established with limits of power to protect both you and me.
    But greed we see in the world today would have it in men's own way;
    With lies and mistrust they live in lust, while the weaker have to pay.
    While families work hard maintaining their home and keeping the kids in school,
    Don't take the time to keep those in line, who consider us as fools!
    They, 'professional politicians,' at their jobs they strive to keep,
    Taxing and spending,  rules they are bending, as we go in debt, so deep.
    My mind returns to the days of my youth when so happy as a boy;
    But see the hardships brought by those, who take away all joy.
    Who make us pay more every day for 'their' luxury and so much more!
    Our money values fade away;  poverty is knocking at our door.
    Children all over the world today that are orphaned and totally without
    Witness the parents killed in their view, while babies scream and shout!
    These evil men who do as they're told, lining people against the wall
    With no remorse, they make their choice, but one day will answer a call.
    A child in a pose with a bad running nose and a look of desperation,
    No clothes on back- a skin that is black, is a sin to any nation.
    While money today, is squandered away while men choose to turn a blind eye,
    recruiting resources that's causing divorces, not listening to their sad cry.
    There truly must be, in all honesty, somehow, someday, a reckoning
    When judgement will fall, on us one and all, Most, not even suspecting.
    The pious/ ornate and who thought themselves great
    who ruled over whoever they won,
    Will be righteously judged, for eternities days
    When passed judgement, by God's Holy Son.

    Pisses me! off too!!! Well worded, nice broad theme, a good rhyme. I liked how it was about all of us, not just you or your corner, or your nation etc. We are all one. Too bad some are only out for number one. I am a country girl, and I was taught young, first things first, food water and shelter, was priority number one. How about the UN do it's chores, makes sure they are all fed, watered and sheltered. Many problems today would just go away if they were all country boys. Write on....

    Amen brotha...U hit the nail right on the head with this poem... Kudo points for u.....Aw hell, I can only give u a 10...The ratin scale doesn't go to 100 which u would have got'n...

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
