Handle With Care
Handle With Care
I was so awestruck by her
Beautiful features I was unaware
Of the label that said beware
Fragile emotions, handle with care
I was so in love I couldn’t see
Past the physical beauty of the lovely lady
That all of her she wanted to share
I missed the label, fragile… handle with care
I could not see all the hurt she did hide
The heartbreak and pain she carried inside
I missed the bold letters on her sleeves she did wear
Fragile broken woman, handle with care
You see behind the beauty was a tower of strength
Wit, tenacity, and intelligence
But I could not see the badge she did wear
Anytime I’d try to get near
She would draw near then hastily retreat
For a brief season, leaving me in defeat
She would for brief moments, her pain to me share
That her broken heart was fragile, handle with care
She is a woman so lovely and fair
A woman of ebony beauty rare
And should she her heart offer beware
Hers is a fragile one… handle with care
