Feathers & Light

Poem Commentary

It came over me so fast, had to write it!

Feathers & Light

Feathers & Light

Feathers and light

Danced the last glance of you in the night

Songs and swells in crushing fevers

Changed me in an instant from within your sight

Loves arrow arcs into the heart

Hanging on last breath far from the start

Affixed the gaze was burned indelible

The remnants of stubbornness engaged the spark

The tempest roared despite attempted suppression

Released the storm was pure aggression

Beyond delight was the known progression

Eternity was the connection

Beautiful, simply beautiful. I am so patient with my dreams, because this is where I see my surreal-lovers.

I gathered that and I too play within my dreams. Thanks for sharing..

A unique descriptive way to express a sensual encounter. Nicely done.

Thanks bklynrizz, you got it and it came from a dream encounter, as well.

Though the poem was written very quickly the words came so suddenly to me that I had to write them immediately, it feels timeless to me as I read it now, and it is somewhat soothing to me. Thanks for reading it and commenting on it, I appreciate your perspective.

Many thanks for that lovely compliment. I hope I can enchant you, the reader, with more and more. I too, feel amazed and in awe of the other poets here and am continuously inspired. Your prose is some of my favorite to read.

It isn't incubus if its just a dream. But if there is a digital photo of it, look out! But around the watercooler can you imagine the silence when you start with, "I was seduced by someone in my sleep last night..." HT

It actually has happened many times that I was seduced in a dream like state and wrote about it as I awakened. Read "Passions Dark Embrace" which was an account of just such an experience. I hope you enjoy it. Ty

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
