Prayer's Light
Glowing dawn crept upon me
as I lay awakened amidst trembling dreams
Wanting sleep, not to weep, no tears left,
feeling bereft, nothing to hold me
Open arms and an ancient heart waits
silent and unfolding in the days light
Tearing at my soul, it feels, it needs all night
Need to release the shredded fight that controls my sight
Crying and bleeding in endless wanton fright
Only a glimpse of salvation comes with a prayer's light
