    Everlasting Love & Devotion. This is what it feels like to me in a poem.

    Love Transcends All


    Love transcends all

    chaos

    betrayal

    hatred

    limitation

    misunderstanding

    loss

    fear

     

    I know that you are near

    feel your heart pounding

    your breath in my ear

     

    seeing your radiance

    knowing all risk of danger

    come with me, lover

    the vastness of life couldn't be stranger

     

    Ageless, will our love be

    even when it's balance we still seek

    hold onto me and I won't let go

     

    walk me through

    where others only peek

    and together, dare to dream

    of what all desires gleam to know

    Eloquently presented. I love the idea of the journey taken together. I'm also a fan of bouncing around with the rhyme and meter. I don't think that poetry should be limited to a specific genre of poetry in every case. Very good :-)

    Thanks for that open take on my poem. I agree that poetry is an expression and all expression, whether in perfect rhyme and meter or not, is still the writers intent to express something of quality, nonetheless. Sometimes I meet a poet on here, like you, in a chance way. I was just looking at the contest entries and came upon yours. I really meant what I said in my comment and welcome your comments and suggestion on any poem of mine. I really appreciate OP, as a site that connects me to the eternal presence of writing and I enjoy the exchange very much. Some days are difficult for me and I need this to pull me through. It is the best of life, having zest for life: give unto others before they give unto you.     TY, I was trying to express how I feel right now after 15 years with my Hubby. ;-^
