Every Autumn
Like clockwork it happensLeaves start to fall and die
To be raked up into piles
So kids can jump into them
Good things happen in Autumn
Beautiful colors abound
Cherry reds, oranges and yellows
The breeze grows cooler
The skies turn grayer
Frost wakes us up
Chills put us to sleep
Winter will soon be here
Halloween, Thanksgiving
Lots of running and shopping
Then 'tis the season for love
Christmas comes with great joy
So do the presents we open
As we celebrate Jesus' birthday
Then the new year rushes in
When we go back to being grumpy
From January to September
When we start it all again
