Eight Hours In a Sewer Pipe
Poor, poor AlfieHanging out in his favorite spot
When some very bad men
Come along banging on the walls
Sending this black cat running
Right over to the nearby drain
His owner tries everything
Even calling the police
Sending down food and water
Coaxing him with a stepladder
All to no avail
He stubbornly stayed hidden
At about twenty feet in
Ever slowly edging back out
Twice he moved into the open
Running back when someone comes
Finally his friends get smart
Using a snow shovel this time
They cover his avenue of escape
Jump down and bring him to safety
After eight long hours in the sewer pipe
