Door, The
You're walking through a forestYou see a house
You're thirsty and a little hungry
So you knock on the door
And a man let's you in
He says welcome, stay and eat
Your host has to leave
And insists that you stay and rest
But there's one rule
If anyone knocks, let them in
Feed them, quench their thirst
Allow them to rest
You agree and he leaves
Now some time passes
A year goes by
Suddenly there's a knock
But you forget your host's word's
So you hide and wait
Hoping the knocker will leave
After a while they seem to have left
So you crawl out and sigh
Then a knock again
This persists for days and days
Finally you crack open the door
It's a messed up stranger
All cut up and bloodied
As you look, your heart melts
Still you hesitate, but you give in
You take him inside and dress his wounds
Give him food and drink
Finding yourself saying
Stay as long as you like
He says thank you, but has to leave
As he leaves, he reveals himself to be
The man from the year before
And more, he reveals himself by name
It is Jesus Christ you see
Come by to test you
You fall on your knees
