Winds Will Whisper

Winds Will Whisper

Winds will whisper songs of peace
While the drums of war will sound
And god is watching quietly
While the angel of death is found

Lead is flying over head
And soldiers close are screaming
Friends once close now are dead
And here I am still breathing

Waiting quiet in the dark
To meet this death of mine
While it claims the life of those I know
But me it does not find

A blessing and a curse
As this clock will slowly turn
How long will I keep this life
How many lessons must I learn.....

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
