Relinquish The Peace

Relinquish The Peace

standing here alone
with a fading affliction
striping myself
with constant contradiction

try to let it go
but now it won't leave
so I take a step back
and let the violence impede

relinquish the peace
with a Molotov mind set
and leave a mark on society
that you'll never forget

break the chains that hold my will
let it not be restrained
and the movement that its started
will never be contained

for we have armed our selves
like militias maliciously
with assault style knowledge
and an aggressive mentality

mark the concrete we walk
with combat boot souls
and with the politician's blood
we will fill the holes

its rebellion in the form
of new world regulation
done through one's mind
with vicious stipulation....

the line in the poem about the "politician's blood" is the best line and the truth. They decide to send our people to a senseless war and then every drop of blood shed is on their conscience. Bring our soldiers home and take care of our own people here in the US. The money spent on this useless war should be going to the needs of our americans here in our own country. I have a husband who died of agent orange exposure and a son who has served two tours in Iraq so I know firsthand what the sorrow

I am not one to comment on structure or style. I was moved... So true, vivid, and blood hearty.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
