Where Is The Good In Goodbye?

Where Is The Good In Goodbye?

Where is the good in goodbye?

Things ending make me cry

Is it there for the future hello

How I wish you never had to go

I think the word is so wrong

Goodbye, NO!, just so long,

See you later, in a little while;

Those words still leave me with a smile

You take a part of me with you,

Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I wait and wonder and sit in hope,

If it was truly goodbye I could only mope

A piece of you is forever in my heart

Making me smile while we are apart

Making me sigh because I miss you so

Making me dream of a future hello

I would be sad if it was really goodbye,

My tears would fall and never dry

Only the hope of seeing you one future day

Keeps me going while you are away

And so I will forever and always wait,

Any day will never be too late,

It may be days, weeks, months or years

But that day only joy will cause my tears

There simply is no good in goodbye

The word is just an utter lie

So my friend, I will just say see you

Because I can’t say goodbye, it’s just not true!

I love the idea of the poem, because thier truly is no good bye.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
