    Time

    Time is so precious

    Yet always slips away

    You think there is plenty

So you waste it by the day

    I will do that tomorrow

    Or maybe later on

    I'll get around to it

And then the time is gone

    Anything can happen

    Time is not still

    And no matter how long

    We'll never have our fill

"I wish I had more time"

    Is something often said

    Use each precious minute

    Until the time has fled

    Always do your best

Learn as much as you can

The time you have right now

    Fill with love each day

    Time is so precious

    Yet always slips away

    It doesn't last forever

Make the most of it each day

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
