CATS
God created a creature of dignity
A creature of grace and beauty too
Such a creature of magnificence
Known as a cat to me and you
On the walls of the great pyramids
Feline pictures have been found
And stories throughout history
About these sacred animals abound
Occasionally they allow us
To stroke their velvety soft fur
And if we are really privileged
We might even hear a pleasant purr
Now and then the cat decides
It wants to have some fun
It pounces and plays for a while
And keeps things on the run
But mostly it just remains calm
Warming itself in the sun
Looking at the world as if to say
'I'm the most important one'
Kittens are totally opposite
A ball of tumbling fluff
Where a cat will sit serene
A kitten likes to play rough
How does that energetic kitten
Become a cool, calm cat?
What mysteries are in their genes
So they change from this to that?
I will never understand
And I really do not care
I love both cats and kittens
And the mysteries they share
