Poem Commentary

Written for a close friend =)

STRANGERS

One day, in April, two strangers met
Half a world apart, connected by the net
They spoke for a while and in the end
Each realized they had found a friend
One who touched their heart, who loved and cared
Whose dreams, hopes, joys and fears they shared
Through their chats they became like sister and brother
They overcame their differences to help each other
They each saw the world from another point of view
Surely that was something worthwhile to do
A man and a woman each facing life's test
Working together to produce the best
No matter the time and great distance apart
The memories made left footprints in the heart
A footprint of friendship that cannot be erased
Cherished, treasured and forever embraced
When she needs to just talk and he needs to share
They can reach through the net and their friend will be there
Though circumstances change and may get in the way
Strangers are now friends forever thanks to one April day

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
