    Wander

    WANDER

Inspired by the gypsy soul in me,

    I forged ahead,

    I wandered to new territory

    The grass though greener,

I could not feel beneath my feet

    It’s blades were sharper

    Than they needed to be

I wandered to white beach sand

    I felt is spill

Through the space in my hand

    I breathed the air with a sigh…

    It had no crispness..

    Warm sultry ..in December

Should it not feel like July?

    I escaped to the mountains

    Searching for cooler air

    I wandered through the forest..

    You were there

    I flew to the north

Though you weren’t at my side

    I walked on the ice

Your love kept me warm inside

    The air kept me cool

    Yes, this was true

But, my heart missed it’s warmth

    And it’s tender lovingness too

So, I wandered back to the warmth

When I wandered back to you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
