Silence

Poem Commentary

There are many forms of silence.  The favorite places I experience the silence is within nature, being the woods, the mountains or the ocean.
Silence can be so rewarding and yet so deafening. This poem speaks of a return to where it started for me!

Silence

Silence

Sidestepping through the woods

singing a favorite childhood song

Decades would pass

Before retracing the steps

In the depths of this forest

Loved by you for so long

Encompassed by the beauty

The stillness of it all

The cascading pine needle

flows gently to the grounds floor

As you stand in melodic trance

of the trees branches blowing

Like so many times before

You travel down the road

Viewing mountains and caverns

Majestic at times they may seem

Standing in awe you take it all in

Seems nothing but a dream

Peaceful and calming

Natures soothes our souls

We embody the healing

As the silence allows us to

discover our true being

emptiness and all

There may come a day when

we return back to our roots

Where the love all began

When time stood still as if God

reached out and held our hand
