Breathe
We all get lost
Amidst the daily hustle and bustle
Changes do occur
Simultaneously without care or concern
We deal with the harsh hands of life dealt
Among our laughter or joy,
Whatever we have felt
Responses give way
To emotions at play
If only the ebb and flow
Would be easy as such:
To notice the colorful flowers
The stillness of the pond
The wading of the duck as it glides along
The deep greens of the trees
The warmth of the sun as it’s rise has begun
The gentle breeze refreshing our skin
Dancing among leaves
Remembering where we have been
The movement of a girl
Her shadows dance
Her walking stance
The bounce of her spiral curls
When life becomes too much
For me to remember all of these
You look at me and say
“just breathe”
