Grateful
Grateful
Indoors
the cold chill of march winds
seep through the loose space
of the window sills
Dark remnants of winter
mixes in
with April rain
Bringing with it
no springtime flowers
only residual pain
The sunshine of May
was less frequent
than most of the may's that past
June we waited for the warmth of summer
but brought many rainstorms wrath
No matter the month
the season or day
that would fall
Darkness of winter
was in my soul
Grateful for the beings
who lit the way
bringing me to the
very light of each new day.
