The Cat
THE CAT
Lie down; take a little nap, go to sleep
Wake up, have a little snack, count some sheep
Lick your paw, itch your ear, one big yawn
Lay back down, I will be back, won’t be gone long
You never complain, you never yell or eat my food
You are always happy to see me, never in a bad mood
All you ask for is food, water and a clean litter box
And that I don’t bring home any stray dogs
Do you get lonely? Do you hurt when I cry?
When you get sick, why does your nose get dry?
Do you really hate it when I take you to the vet?
When I don’t pet you, why do you bite my leg?
If I gave you a mouse would you really eat it?
Or would you just kick it around and play with it?
Would you ever want to trade places just for a week?
You go to my office and I stay home and sleep
You are stocky, swole, but some call you fat!
That is ok; you are still cool like that
Just one more thing before I go
There is something I would like to know
Why is it that every time I grab my laptop
You turn around, run, jump on my lap and drop
You get mad if I try to push you to the floor
But I have to, as I can’t feel my legs any more
