Lighting Strikes
LIGHTNING STRIKES
Flash of light
Wrong or right
Put up a shell
Feel unwell
Fight or run
You are done
Been here before
You slam the door
Here is the pain
Falls like rain
A lightning strike
Forgot what it was like
Words said
Feel empty, dead
Feeling defeat
Seek the street
Run, exhausted
You bleed, you bled
Hurt, humiliation
Very familiar station
Wish to go away
Prefer night to day
Game over lover
Happy is never
Kick her while down
Water while drown
Unbelievable story
There is no glory
Shake your head
You leave instead
It is better that way
Better to go away
Sick to your stomach
You want to go back
But it is the end
You see a trend
Two months, maybe three
Then you flee
To the safety of you
That is what you do
You pick yourself up
Pour coffee in a cup
Follows a deep breath
Still feel like death
You pretend to be tough
That might be enough
To get you by
The day you said goodbye
A day at a time
A song, a rhyme
Self preservation
Full of abrasion
