    CANNOT SCREAM

    CANNOT SCREAM
    Can’t understand
    Look at my hand
    Empty thoughts
    An empty heart

    I don’t comprehend
    I stare at the mirror
    Sick to my stomach
    I make myself sick

    I can’t help it
    I don’t get it
    What went wrong
How did I turn this way

    Don’t know satisfaction
    Don’t know true happiness
    A smile only hides
What lies deep in my heart

Maybe it was meant to be this way
Maybe that is how it will stay
    34 years old and old
No surprise, so I was told

That is how I would end up
    It was meant to be
    Meant to be unhappy
In a corner with a cup

    Trouble in the air
    An empty stare
    Numb, slow moving, a glare
Head spinning, nothing else to bear

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
