    Something wrong with me

THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME

    Hoping tomorrow will be gone
You finally realize there is something wrong
I see it coming; it is all here back again
The things I did not want, the hint of past pain

I have reached the highest of places
Then I was dropped without warning
I feel I am falling, without anyone to catch me
A familiar place, where I did not want to be

I feel sad, I feel sorry for myself
All others envy me but they don’t see the pain
They see the good things, the life in the fast lane
But what they can’t see is I, my true self

I see a pole to the moon, and I climb it
I see fire, I see pain, I really don’t mind it
I pursue, no fear, I approach, I attack
Then I realize it is too late, I can’t turn back

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
