not exactly what i was seeking,this that i have found.
yet close enough to bring me down.
and oh how weakening
to obtain the obvious
to which now i am bound.
all along he was only
tricking the shadows of sound.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
