An artist’s brush away
The love I have for you will never change,
it is secure within in my heart forever,
I feel so close to you yet, I fear,
we are a whole universe apart.
Both our lives are in limbo,
new love frozen for all time.
Both hands stretch across a canvas,
but that touch is always an artist’s brush away.
We sing of love from our soul,
of passion unfrequented.
Our minds, bodies and souls are being
tortured, torn asunder.
In my mind our fertile land is going to seed,
loves fertiliser unable to rejuvenate.
It is time to be honest to our love inside,
safe and secure on a dusty shelf.
My angel, this last mountainous vista we face,
a safe passage through we cannot find.
Sanity I can no longer command,
my life has no compass.
With sadness we must accept, after all this time,
that our union was never fated to be.
Though for you I will always carry a flame,
we must sign off the 'us' with 'I love you'.
This torturous lovers journey, that once we thought destiny,
has reached its natural end.
