Winter of My Discontent
The Winter Hawk flew away to regain his strength for winter’s ice must April showers melt,
And spring must sing jubilant songs to welcome the season’s newborn,
The Winter Hawk flew away to regain his strength as spring sings a jubilant song;
Awake newborn blossoms, open your eyes, and remember fond dreams,
And use the miracle of my presence to create new realities,
The Winter Hawk has flown away to regain his strength,
And newborn babes from their dreams awake,
They dance, they laugh, they sway in the wind to the songs of newborn spring,
Yes. The Winter Hawk has flown away, but in a while his strength shall be renewed,
Then all shall sleep enrapted by winter’s fury,
As the Winter-Hawk returns to his Watcher’s duty,
So learn this lesson borne on the wings of the wind:
When the Winter-Hawk threatens the warmth within,
Despair not, like blossoms and babes dare to dream of spring.
