The Human Animal
Society is a strange animal,
Walking a two-way street,
Six of one, half-dozen of the other,
Standing on presumptuous feet,
Society is a fickle animal,
That lifts us to great heights,
Pampering egos, false remarks in mortal sights,
God Bless the ones that live in such a gilded cage,
For them lifted today will someday be mutilated by age,
God Bless the life that scales the heights, as birds that sweetly sing,
Not for all the glitter in the world can society ever be the real thing,
Better humanity than society.
