love at First Shot
Whilst walking on the street one day I happened to pass a woman I didn’t know,
Nothing special about her, nothing special, that is, until cupid fired his bow,
She lit a fire in my mind and passion consumed my heart, as that nothing special became something essential,
Love hit again, no warning, no defense,
Love hit again, love that makes fool of my common sense,
It’s that darned cherub Cupid, wreaking havoc in careless frolic, just to see what happens,
It’s that darned Cupid again with that sometimes-infernal bow,
He aims at the skies, is deaf to the wise, and lovers drown in each other’s eyes.
