    Windchimes

    A soft gentle breeze

    traveling unseen.

    One hollow bar

    hits against another

    and another bangs against

    a small round disc.

    A beautiful

    melody

    begins to travel

    the air waves

    and I am blessed with

    its wonderful song

    Hard to believe

    that this alone

    can bring about the

    melodious tune

    that travels

    across my porch.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
