Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne’s Lace

line the road

On which I walk……

Tiger Lilies and Batchelor Buttons too….

Purple clover surrounds a single Pine

And all at once I begin to think of you.

Small cottage type houses

Dot the road way…

But no diamonds on the blue

Of the deep sea.

Instead, there are miles

Of corn and soy beans

As far as my eye can see.

The heaviness of hot

And humid weather

Has lifted with a very

Fine cool breeze,

And as I listen to the

Call of the cicadas

Once again my mind

Has found a place of ease.
