Who Knew
Put one foot in front of the other and see how far you can go.
Now pause, recollect your steps, and see how much further you can go from what you know.
Goodbyes have never been easy for me, and after so many I should be use to them now when they come my way.
Who knew the steps I engraved would be questioned when I forgot words to say.
Again, I've found myself in the know of what I already knew.
I've put my feelings aside, but I forgot, without them I wouldn't know what to do.
Who knew I would find myself ten minutes outside of a living hell.
I was lost, and looking for a way up, that only time could tell.
Who knew a friendship set up for failure would last this long?
Who knew I would have the words to write, when they wished I didn't write the song?
Put one foot in front of the other, and take your chance down that yellow brick road.
Now, pause and reflect on how far you've come and how you're going to manage the load.
Who knew two steps forward would knock me three steps back where I didn't want to be.
Who knew it would take this journey to get me to really check me?
