The Stremgth of a Black Mama

The strength of a black mama is defined in the way she walk.

The endurance of a black mama is in the way she talks.

It was the strength of a black mama that gave the slaves hope.

It was the strength of a black mama that warms her children better than any coat.

It was the black mama that birthed that strong baby that had a dream.

It was the strength of a black mama who had the fight in her when here babies were being treated mean.

It's the strength of a black mama, that makes her hold her when they tell her baby  that her baby could be criminal.

When her child does wrong, the mother's strength seems weakened and the message is not subliminal.

The strength of a black mama is strong whenever her kids are feeling weak.

It's the strength of my strong black mama that fuels the fight inside of me.

It's the strength of your black mama leaving whenever you make her cry.

It's more painful to her whenever you do something that do or could mess up your life.

It's the strength of a black mama that helps her raise her precious babies, when their daddy has skipped town.

It's the strength of a black mama that feeds her kids off of five dollars when hard times come around.

It's the strength of a black mama that teachers her daughters to be nothing less of a lady.

It's the strength of a black that sees the hope and peace in the eyes of her baby.

It's the strength of the black mama that help us reach freedom.

It's the strength of the black mama that that believed in our dreams, when we didn't believe in them.

It's the strength of the black mama that saw the Freedom fighters and others through the Civil Rights.

It was the strength of the black mama that helped the doubters and scaredy cats of that time, that everything would be alright.

It was the strength of the black mama that got you through when the president was looking out for him self.

It was the strength of the black mama knowing to call on Jesus when her child was beyond anyone's help.

It was the strength of the black mama that spoke volumes whenever her babies felt like all hope was gone.

It was strength of the black mama encouraging us when this cold world leaves us in the dark and all alone.

It was the strength of a black mama that stretched that ten dollars when they government announced we were in a recession.

It's in the budgeting of the strong black mama, that we should leaarn a valuable lesson.

It's the strength of my black mama that put up with me when they said I was no good.

It's the strength of your black mama that believed in you, when they said you would just be a statistic from the hood.

It's your grandma and my grandma being strong black women, and prayer when the world had given us up.

It's your aunts and your cousins being strong black women, pulling for you when you thought there was no such thing as good luck.

it's the strength of the black mama that pray, when it seems like we have forgot too.

It's the strength of the black mama turns a nobody into somebody, like me and you.

It's the strength of the black mama that holds that strong glue for our lives.

It's the prayers of a strong black mama that  should make us hold our head high and want to do right.

It's the strength of a black mama that help me write this poem.

And, it's the strength of a black mama  that makes me want to go on, and strong.
