On Trial for a Friend
You have the right to defend your friendship at all costs.
Eyes are you, the jury is listening, let's see if your game matches your talk.
It's going on five and half years since I've known dude.
We befriended after the half, and man what a hell of a journey we've had to go through.
My friend has been called names many times, and has been set up to fail many times.
Each time they've ridiculed him, and stamped him guilty plenty of times.
There I was the first time declaring his innocence for the first time.
It was then did they try and get me to turn my back on him and cross the guilty line.
Here I am again, on trial for my strong and true friendship.
There have been times when I wanted to get mad, and give up but I remember how he held me down when they would trip.
And, again I'm on trial for five year friendship that everyone told me couldn't last.
I tried goodbye, to get away from paparazzi but dude just couldn't let a good friendship be in his past.
Once again I'm on trial because they believe they caught him in a lie.
And, once again as a true friend, they brought me in to testify.
This has got to be the fiftieth time, but I will do this over and over again.
It makes me mad, but every time they doubt our friendship I will defend my true friend.
If I have to spend many of our friendship days on trial, then that's where I'll be.
Because I will not let you chain and sentence a true, real and dear friend to me.
