Get Me to the Cross
I once was blind, but now I see.
There I was letting defeat get a hit on me.
I was letting the situation cause me to frown.
Then I went to hear the word, and that frown turned upside down.
When the disappointment hit me, I completely forgot.
Jesus suffered pain, ridicule, and beatings and they cost His Father a lot.
At first I was wrapped in the situation, and I didn't think to stop and pray.
It completely forgot about the Truth and the Way.
When I got to my Father's house I felt a little better.
When I joined in to sing praises to His name, I started to forget about the rainy weather.
You never know the coverage you have with the cross, until you really commit.
You don't know the warmth you feel during lonely times, until you experience it.
Get me to the cross, and I assure you that I will find my way home.
Get me to my Jesus, and I'll be guaranteed a new song.
Get me to the cross, and I know and believe that all my problems will be solved.
Get me to the cross, get me to the cross, so I can be near my loving God.
