Tear Tracks

Scripture: “Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice:” Psalms 27: 7

I cried but only God could hear me.

I begged for a reason why but the tears just kept falling.

I’ll follow the tear tracks until I reach my breakthrough.

I’ll take these tear tracks step by step until I’ve done what I’ve set out to do.

I’ll write my way past the tears because that’s what I know.

I’ve cried again and I told myself that I wouldn’t let my emotions show.

I cry these tears but the tracks lead up to a victory that is very close by.

I can feel a victory but the tears lead up to the blessing that’s going to come from the sky.

I’ve cried and this time I only let God see so no one had any room to call me weak.

But, I’ve left tear tracks and everyone can see the stains on my battered cheeks.

I can only hope that “The Boy” wont text me again but that would be too good to be true.

Just when I think that I’ve won…a testing text comes through.

The tests are the ones that see if my tears can stand through a trial.

If I keep my cool, and stay strong…the trial will be worthwhile.

The tear tracks are all part of a breakdown that’s going to see me to something great.

I cried but God heard me, and He let me the tracks of tears were building blocks that I had to take.
