WHAT IF
What if I’d never seen your face?
Would my heart never have,
Reached this frantic pace?
What if your voice I had never heard?
Would I wonder at your spoken word?
What if I hadn’t jumped in feet first?
Would my soul continue to thirst?
What if you had returned those feelings?
Then maybe this sadness,
I wouldn’t be feeling.
What if you through caution to the wind?
And decided to be more,
Than my friend?
What if I never experience your lips,
Pressed to mine,
Will I regret it in time?
What if realization didn’t
Hurt so bad?
Realization that you can’t lose,
What you never even had?
