Skin Deep
Boldly, as you spoke to meI thought you saw something
Under the surface.
I was wrong
And angrily
You stood against me.
Beauty is so skin deep
For so many folks, it's steep
To pay the price
Of what's beneath the surface.
Knowing what I see
Was not expected
Thought at your age
Surely that you would be grown
By now.
Laughing inside
What I feel
It justifies on what I steal
From you
In knowing what I've done
Is tell you 'no'
It seems you are not used to that.
I know it really sucks for you
To speak when you are spoken to
And I'm not here for now
Cause one of us is more
Than just
Skin deep.
