The Door
Darkened are the days when I was good enoughAnd through transparent blessings in disguise...
Masks are ripped into such tiny shards of glass.
I will my secrets to the door.
You slammed me shut
Upon the inside of the furnace
Can't get out.
Suffocating in these self-destructive patterns
Seeking favor 'mongst the dead and rotting corpses
Looking where to feed and finding empty teats
Just shriveled up where nourishment belongs
It's perilous upon the iron wall
On which I stand.
