Silent Tears

Silent Tears

Salty, like the ocean
They fall, never-ending
From built up emotions
And inner wretchedness
They burn from pain

 For long silent tears kept
Confined to the heart
Voiced only by the eyes
The window to the soul
Darker-Deeper

 Profound hurt; nighttime woes
Cultivating the lines
That defines identity
Marred; lifelong scars
Shattered Dreams

 Recognize these tears
For they do not forgive
They shall never forget
Fate is sealed upon sight
And, love is lost

Forever

One must learn to forgive and forget to break free of pain such as this. It can only be conquered when one lets go of it and allows for time to heal. Very emotional piece you have penned here but do not let the shattered dreams keep you from having new ones. God Bless BikemanRJ

dawn, Tears certainly have a life of their own and an unyielding memory too. Your account is truly admirable and a tear speaks to me from your poem. ginga

Dawn, the content of this piercing poem is so vivid. It gives the reader the taste of sadness in which many of us can relate at times. A thought-provoking piece and a raging stage. I appreciate the torment enclosed. Thanks for sharing...xoxoxo *Erika*

"I am a man, I am a child I am alone, I am many I am civil, I am wild" —— a dahliciously poetic line filled with beautiful pain. Bravo! Peace and Light.

Dah, Did you mean to post this comment elsewhere? I read that poem and I love that line too...but I can't remember whose poem it belonged to but it is not mine :)

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
