    Poem Commentary

    Random thoughts last summer.

    Same Ol' Same Ol'

I wake again, clock says two twenty four
Nothing new, same ol’, same ol’
Wide awake I try to find slumber
Words flow in my head, they are gone now.

Waiting for sweet sleep to find me.
The words fit. Thought I could remember.
Every night I awaken somewhere around three.
Cannot stop the clock from turning September.

I take a pill to calm me down.
My keyboard clicking, wish I felt mild.
House so quiet. Hearing a sound.
    Clock ticking. Thoughts running wild.

Just want to be a little groggy.
Thoughts come to mind so dark, so black,
Images in my head a little foggy.
Thoughts drift off to my heart attack?

Another story, of a man of thirty four,
Didn’t want to go down that path,
Don’t worry for me, we all find our core.
Thoughts from my dark side take their wrath.

Fellow insomniac- hows it be??lol,-by the comments, looks like theres a whole network of 'our kind' lol! What hits me in this write is the the fact you were awaken with needing to write!- I really thought that I was never going to hear that from another poet. Lotsa times, I cant fall asleep at'll 'cause words wont SHUT UP in my head.-ok, now he piece; this should have a stadium of reads! You have some of the coolest lines that someone could want to hit! This whole stanza( and in love with the last line!)-Waiting for sweet sleep to find me. The words fit. Thought I could remember. Every night I awaken somewhere around three. Cannot stop the clock from turning September. Total 10, bomb!!!-Maddi

The thing is, the words I had in my head might have been 10 times better than what I actually wrote. We will never know. I am glad you really get this poem. Thanks sweetie. :)

Good imagery of how it feels to be up all night, I should know. You might find meditation helpful. Spirits are trying to speak to you. They use 3 am as the quietest hour to reach through. Be Well. Good Poem!

Yes, my dark side was just creeping out back then. I was mostly just writing whatever came to my mind without a plan.
