Poem Commentary

Thanks Asha for the advice. :)

Majestic One

A magnificent noble beast

He wanted some green grass to eat

His heart became a big, bloody mess

Leaving the stench of rotting flesh

A male moose brought down with a shot

Just left beside a stream to rot

Once he fought for the right to mate

Now he has become vulture's bait

What a shame. What a tragic waste

A mistake made that can’t be erased

God gave us this majestic one

A life ended by hunter's gun

Bravo my friend. I detest the senseless killing of God's creatures. Killing done in the name of sport. What kind of sick sport is killing a defenseless creature then leaving its body to rot? Very eloquently said. Thanks for the share...Kevin.

The hunters probably didn't intend to leave the moose to rot. They didn't have the means to drag the moose home. Poor planning. Thanks for the comment.

I am in pain, in tears, in anger..... the killing, all of it must stop, all around the world, it must stop. Masterful. Bravo!!!

I shot a rabbit with a pellet gun when I was young. I felt very bad, and I have never shot anything since. Thanks for the comment. -Moot

Moot .. You hit a subject that burns me! :( I have no respect for these idiots. The senseless killing of any living creature is heartless and evil in my eyes. A very sad write my friend indeed. :( Ken
