Nature's Jewel
Dusty wings
Orange and black
A fluttering sound
Wisps by my ears
The inescapable joy
At the site of this treasure
Floating in the air
Gracefully landing on every leaf
Every flower
A splash of color
Sitting on a leaf
This is no flower
It is the creature of my dreams
Nature’s most precious jewel
More graceful than a ballerina
Lighter than a feather
Brighter than the sun
Silent as the wind
Its beauty remains
The loveliest sight to the eye
As I sit here watching
This beautiful butterfly
I think it is one of a kind
Although millions surround me
