Home of My Soul, Timeless Lake
The candle in the moonlight reminds me of their eyes in the mist,
flickering ever so slightly as I breathe in
and out. The water shimmers, glimmers in the moonlight, ivory mist
in the sky, a dream just inviting me in.
Oh, the lily pads float, not a ripple to tickle the silence
as my boat moves through the water. Soulful music is this silence.
The air is a mirror of my mind…..clear as ‘Dear, Mother’ letters
made in my hand once a night.
My name consists of thirteen letters,
though it feels like not one can describe me any night.
So I sit in this here boat, eternally afloat in this lake devoid of time.
With my candle still a-flickering, hands never a-shaking, I float through these waters ‘till the end of my time.
