    My Angel

    God sent an angel
    To take care of me
    To kiss away the hurts
    That only I can see.

She taught me right from wrong
And showed me things that I must do
She told me of the blessing I'd receive
    Just by loving you.

    My angel nevr leaves me
    She is always there
    Tending to my every need
    With her tender loving care

    She's been beside me
    Through years on end
    She's not only my angel
    She's my best friend

Then came a storm one february night
    My body trembled with fear
    My angel said, "Don't worry,
    I'm standing right here".

The lightening flashed, the sky was so bright
As this mad tornado wind blew
When the house started coming apart
I didn't know what to do.

As the wind blew me from here to there.
I screamed and called upon the Lord.
I felt my angle gently push me
    against this big long board.

    I grasped it so tightly
As I fought to hold on.
    When I opened my eyes
    everything was gone.

    The wind was over
As I stood up at last
    It was still raining
    But the tornado had past.

    I couldn't find my children
I thought they had been killed
But my angel had protected them
And covered them with her shield.

My angel kept my children in her arms.
As well as she did me.
If it weren't for my angel
Where on earth would we be.

She kept us safe from danger
    We all could have died
I thank you lord for, "My Angel"
That still stands by my side.

I'm so glad that you and your children made it out of that situation. Appreciate that you give thanks where thanks is due. Your angel. :)

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
