Angels Can Fly!
I ran away from home once
At the age of seven
My mommy had gotten sick and died
God had taken her home to heaven
I knew nothing about death
Nor if the angels could fly
All I knew is mommy left me
And she didn't even say Goodbye
Softly I crept out of our house
Twas the middle of the night
Every little noise I heard
Gave me such a terrible fright
I walked down the lane
Through a little wooded trail
I was so scared and cold
My little body so frail
I grew weak and tired
After walking about a mile
I found a little place to rest
So I sat down for a while
I was so afraid and terribly cold
and there was no one around
Suddenly a bright light appeared
And I heard this beautiful sound
It was my mommy's voice
It was soft and so sweet
My fear went away
As she lifted me to my feet
She explained where she had went
So that I would understand
She said, "I love you my Angel"
And then took me by my hand
She led me out of the woods
And back down the lane
As we got near our house
She softly said my name
She said "I will always be with you"
Then kissed me Goodbye
As she asended up in the clouds,
I knew then, Angels could fly.
