In Meeting A Stranger, I Found A Friend...

My gentle stranger, we took a chance,
With the hope and possibility that curiosity
Would lead us to sameness and common ground…
Unaware that our chemistry, harmony and differences
Would forge a friendship, apparently so complete—
As we spoke with a gentle hush...
I felt a closeness that drew me into your essence.
Your voice was smooth, calm and confident…
Over the hours, we shared stories of life's journey,
There was a feeling of sameness, like we were old friends—

We embraced and cherished our warmth, and closeness
With subtle notions, we reach a sinergy of common values,
And shared our differences and unique similarities,
Within our hearts, mind and souls...
We secretly hoped that this person would be the one;
And, in retrospect... in meeting a stranger, I found a caring friend

Very beautiful, yet the real love is within oneself. And still that of a true friend is a beautiful thing too.

my friend, i appreciate your words and evaluation, my poetry is personal; and it means a lot to me, when a reader can truly relate and feel my words... thejazpoet

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
