If I Were Lucy
Faith in Fate
(If I Were Lucy)
It was not yesterday but many years ago,
I was a deamer then and always dreamed of you;
We both believed our love was real, that Fate would not let go,
So promises were made, together we would say "I do".
But then, so many years had passed after that one last kiss,
No one remembers now how Fate had played a trick;
I just woke up one day and found another kiss,
It was not yours, but from a man to whom my heart was meant.
I've lived a happy life, so full and so content,
Although at times I wonder why and how we parted ways;
Then everything would change for me after all my blissful years,
My tears would not dry up after my soulmate's tragic end.
Then Fate played trick again, when lately our paths crossed,
Couldn't believe our eyes, we were stunned and almost froze;
The many years rushed back in just a single stroke,
Mixed emotions of thousand kinds overwhelmed and gripped us both.
Oh Fate! How could you play on us after these many years?
I wonder what's your other trick, or will it be another thrill?
It's not even a wish, I am just wondering,
Lost love would come uninvited and fill my life again?
