A Scream Within
A Scream Within
Walking alone in dark , cold night
Some fading stars denied her light,
Lurking shadows that seemed to grab
Gave her tremble, familiar fright.
It brings her back to years before
When she was left alone at home,
An evil's face opened the door
Brought her deep pain and left some wounds.
That was the start of her nightmare
When same events happened again
Another time, other evils,
They preyed on her a poor victim.
She was helpless, distraught, like dead,
Yet stayed afloat like a strayed leaf,
Refused to feel the sore beneath,
Surrender then was all needed.
But her spirit urged her on,
Never gave up to pains and wounds;
Time would heal them and just as soon
A renewed life would come along.
And then light glowed at a distance,
She saw a chance to escape the dark;
Groping slowly, she found a pass,
Then finally, it was daylight.
Yet every night she has to dream
Like living through the hell she'd been;
She runs for breath and almost sream
Then wakes in tears from same nightmares.
These are like nails on her shoulders,
A deep secret she keeps within;
Nobody knows but One up there
Traumatic years she had to bear.
Sometimes she hopes she would wake up,
Won't remember that tragic past
Like an amnesia of some kind,
The next morning, another life.
But no..., it is reality;
It is her faith and history,
She must accept her destiny,
The past won't change, so let it be.
