A Bikers Ride
As I walk out into the sunlight I prepare for a journey.
My steed sits there all rubber, steel, and chrome, ready for what the day shall bring.
Turn the key and fire that baby up, her pipes roaring like a dragon.
Swing a leg over and pull that bandana tight, it’s time to ride.
With a twist of the throttle we are off, shift up through the gears and settle in for the ride.
Not a care for where we are going, just a need to get the wind in our faces and knees in the breeze, it is the journey not the destination.
As your mind clears and all your troubles disappear the ride has truly begun.
Out on a long country road, no soul in sight, you feel those lost loved ones riding with you.
It makes you happy but also sad to share the road with your guardian angels.
As a tear slips down you face you remember the good times that can be no more, you tell them that you miss them and that you loved them as they fly away back to heaven they wave bye, see you next time.
You chase the sun as it sets for yet another day, this part is almost over.
Stop and get a bite n brew, stretch your legs before thundering down the road once again for the next journey and whatever life may bring.
As you head for the next journey, you can’t help but smile for the love of your bike and the open road and the freedom it brings.
